As I was rocking Grace to sleep today, she was giving me a run for my money. Wiggling, squirming, poking me, pulling my earrings, sticking her hand down my shirt...driving me crazy.
As I was trying to sing primary songs over her shenanigans, she suddenly sits up, looks at me and puts both of her hands over her chest. She pats her chest and says, "Jesus powda me". After a couple of unsuccessful guesses, I looked at her quizzically and asked, "Jesus is proud of you?" She put her hands down, said "yeah" and then laid her head down as I continued singing her recent favorite, "I'm Trying to be like Jesus".
He's not the only proud one, little girl.
It's moments like these that make the frustrations of motherhood worth it.
