Shower me!

This past weekend, i went to Sumter for my first Bridal Shower. I know its silly, but i was kinda nervous to be in the center of attention and have to open presents with everyone watching me. i know....ME....scared to be the center of attention! Unbelievable! I guess it was just overwhelming because you have to LOVE everything you get and make sure everyone knows it. Which means, LOTS of smiling and nodding, and 'thank you's". But, once i got started, i had a blast! There were tons of people there, which was really flattering, since i had not seen half of them in years. It was nice getting to catch up with everyone and see how sincere they were in their 'best wishes'. And of course, the present openning was fun too! I think Stephen and i are set for Kitchen things. His parents, and uncle, and brother and sister-in-law all pitched in to buy us the pots and pans that we really wanted. I was sooo excited to get these (and you know you are getting 'old' when you get excited over pots and pans! haha) because they were the pots and pans that were VERY good quality and i loved them!

We also received utensils, pampered chef (which i love!) pyrex, casserole dishes, serving platters, DISHES(my family pitched in and got us 3 sets plus the completer set), and we even got a croquet set(which may seem random, but we registered for it! Stephen and his family play croquet in his front yard).

I was also excited about our bathroom stuff! we have the Shower curtain and holders that we wanted...and all the towels/washclothes, handtowels! I was very excited about it! Now we just need the bath matts and we are good to go for the bathroom!

I'm starting to get excited about moving! (not the whole packing everything up/leaving my best friend stuff, but the 'i get to decorate, and organize and purge' excited) A janitor at work has been getting me huge boxes to pack in, and its starting to feel more real. I'm sure Emily is getting annoyed with all of my STUFF everywhere, b/c the entire sunroom has been deemed the 'wedding room' and is stuffed with reject dresses, dishes, decorations, boxes, and more stuff. I'm going to try to straighten that all up and move the clutter to my room this weekend. She's throwing a bridal shower with desiree for me next week, and i'm sure she doesn't want my clutter everywhere!

After the shower on Saturday, i got to come home and relax for a few minutes, but that definately wasn't long enough. 5min later, i was up again, trying to do my makeup, putting petticoats on and getting dressed for the bridal portaits. (my wonderful sister and her friend took portraits of me)
Sooo....after stuffing myself in a car and driving downtown, i get out to find out that i have black lines down my dress. Yes, this is after my mom gave us a lecture to NOT GET IT DIRTY when we were taking pictures! haha. We were so careful while getting into the car (we even wiped down the car with baby wipes) we had no idea where it came from. Thinking about it, though, i really think that my dress must have brushed up against the storm door of our house when we were leaving. Oh, well. I can fork up some money to have it cleaned again. (its a good thing i know how to use photoshop!) We had initially planned on going downtown Sumter to take pictures. We were driving there, and we passed Memorial Park (which was where Stephen proposed) and decided it would be cool if we could take some pics on the Gazebo (where he got on one knee!).
After a while, though, we just decided to stay there! There were such pretty locations all around the park.

I'll be honest and say that i feel quite awkward in front of the camera. My friends make fun of me for being a 'poser' b/c as soon as the camera comes out, i tend to just make silly faces or poses....

Well, for the record, i prefer to be behind the camera! haha...makes sense, huh?
But i will admit, even though i felt a little awkward, it was fun. i got to pose all around the park as Mary and Rachel barked out orders! (haha..ok, maybe not that bad)
Rachel brought me her pictures the next day at church, and i must say, that Mary and Rachel did a great job! I may have some competition!

All in all, a good weekend...but i just can't wait for this weekend. Stephen will be gone...which i'm not looking forward to, but it will give me the chance to maybe pack up some stuff, and purge my closet. I also have a photoshoot with a girl from work. She wants couple pictures of her and her husband. I hope I get some great ones. She showed me her wedding pictures, and she didn't really have any good ones of her and her husband. It should be a challenge b/c she's VERY tall, and i might have to bring a stool along!haha

2 more days to go until the weekend!

Its eerie, but the longer your posts are the more they read like you talk. The start slow and get faster. Wow.
It will be nice to have a record of your thoughts for you and dare I say, children, in the years to come. They will be thoroughly enjoyed. Thanks for sharing this. Maybe if Cara had one of these, I would have known what I was in trouble for earlier each time. -- oh, and my captcha -'maness'. How appropriate.
