Can i just say, that i NEVER heard that boy talk so much! It was a constant flow of words pouring out of his mouth. Yeah, yeah, coming from a girl that talks as much and as fast as I do, you know that's saying a LOT! He talked about the fair, he talked about Stephen, he talked about the tree outside the window, he talked about the spiderman toy in my car, he talked about the 'Frankenstein' book in my backseat, he talked about the Wii (OF COURSE), and then he wanted to play a game. Obviously, being the great aunt that i am (*insert dose of humility here*) i obliged. His turn first:
Luke: 'ok, i'm thinking of something'
Me: 'ok, what type of thing'
Luke: 'umm.. a cool thing and it starts with an 'N'
Me: 'N' as in Naomi?
Luke: 'yes, 'N' as in Naomi.
Me: 'ok....nora?
Luke: 'no'
me: 'nintendo'
Luke: 'WHAT? ' *sigh...i guess i'm old school*
me: 'never mind. give me a hint'
Luke: 'ok, he's really cool and he wears a hat'
Me: 'Indiana Jones? (stifling a laugh)
Luke: ' YEA! you GOT it, TiNa!!!'
come on, give me props for even getting it from a hint of 'wears a hat'..haha
When we got to the baseball game, we parked by Stephen's car and i proceeded to get all my things together (for anyone who knows me, understands this...i tend to carry huge bags and snacks AND bottled water just about everywhere i go.)
As I was getting myself together, I hear Luke's seat belt unbuckle, and all in one second, the door thrown open....and smashing into Stephen's truck. I literally gasped. Stephen LOVES his truck. And he HATES scratches on his truck. He's only recently started parking near any cars in big parking lots. I used to tease him for always parking soo far away at Walmart, because he didn't want to be too close to other cars. All in this one moment, all these thoughts go thru my head, and i start to tear up. I know, i'm a wuss, but i felt so bad, b/c i should have watched Luke closer and it wouldn't have happened. So i'm examining the damage, and i'm like, "ok, Luke, we are going to have to tell Stephen what happened. I know it was an accident, and he'll understand."
Luke says, " We could cover it up with something! with a black shirt or something?"
" Well, i'm sure we can fix it with paint, if we need to, but we still need to be honest, right, luke?"
Luke: 'yeah....right'
Well then we sit down and watch the game. And by watch, i mean, me watch, and Luke bouncing up and down on the bleachers, and showing me which piece of Chex Mix he is eating (what did i tell you about the snacks? haha), or telling me which piece to eat, or comparing the chocolate chex with the 'marshmallow' (really peanut butter) ones. of course, every once in a while he would tap my shoulder and say, "hey TiNa, see that yellow shirt out there??"
Yes, i see it.
"Hey, that's Stephen! Go Uncle Stephen!"
then, back to the dancing and jumping off bleachers and comparing Chex again. About 3/4 way thru the game, Luke turns to me and says,"Hey, can we go home and play the Wii?" haha.
Wow, what a world we live in, when you can play baseball inside of your house with a Wii!
After the game, we tell Stephen about the 'incident' with his truck. Surprisingly (or not so surprisingly) he took it well. He told Luke he understood that it was an accident and that he was glad that he told him the truth. (and i guess i should be thankful that we didn't park by another car)
Luckily, its on the passenger side of the truck, so he's not going to see it a lot. (but i'll see it and feel guilty every time! haha)
All, in all, what a good night! It was a lot of fun to have Luke with me at the game (even though i won't mention the score). What a talkative boy he is! He's definitely growing up so fast! I think i tend to keep him at age 2 in my head, but he is definitely a rambunctious 4 year old who can talk my ear off! (which is quite the feat!) Luke= ALL BOY!

I just have to say that story was so cute! *hand motion* It's a shame about the truck though, at least he took it well. And the whole time I was reading it I was thinking "Wow, she is going to be a really great mom!" Also I heard Stardust coming from your room. Have you seen it before? Did you like it? Lastly I looooove you!
ps-In that little word verification thing they put a w by a v which is very confusing since they are already blurry and so it could easily be mistaken for 3 v's. I'm jus sayin'...
pps-Sorry this is so jumbled, but it is me and 12:45 am what do you expect?
you are crazy! yes, i like stardust...even though i fell asleep halfway thru the first night i watched it, and then i had to watch the rest of it the next night! haha. (yes, and those word verifications are always sketchy if you ask me....haha
i LOVE you!
