You are never going to believe this, but...

I ran a 5k!!

I know...if you know me, you know this is pretty much the last thing you would expect me to do.
Even my mom just stared at my blankly when I told her and just kept saying, "You? Really? YOU? Are you sure? You???"
Yes, mom....ME.

I decided pretty much mid September that I wanted to make a goal and just do it. I wanted to do something that wasn't expected and something that would help me be healthier.

And i'm happy to report that I DID IT.

Of course, the 5K I chose was exactly one month away. Maybe not such a big deal for most people, but I literally have never RUN a mile in my life. Even in those high school phys-ed classes, I don't think I ever even ran an entire mile...mostly walked/ran it.
So, I had one month to make my out of shape self run 3.1 miles. And I did NOT want to run/walk it. I wanted to RUN it.

Stephen was the best trainer, and we ran as much as we could during the week. He would push me, even though I prob complained 90% of the time we were running. (thank you, Stephen!)

I was super excited about running, can't you tell? Or maybe just excited to get it over with?

Mary and Jacob (the actual runners in our family) decided to run it too! Thanks for the support, guys!

Right before we head out!

After the run, Stephen and Jacob chilled in the dugout, while Mary and I posed as Gangstas by our two-time National Champs Trophies!

We got medals....or as I like to say, "I WON a medal!" haha

Yep, that's right...we FINISHED!
I had a great time. And I met my goal of RUNNING the whole way! I can't say that I am now in LOVE with running, but I do want to at least still keep running.
And although Mary wants me to run a half marathon with her, I think I'm still perfectly happy to stand on the sidelines to cheer her on as SHE runs it!

Now I just need to find a good jogger stroller at a good price so we can keep up the habit!
