Sweet baby Eli and family came to dinner on Mothers day.
What Dad usually does while grilling...maybe that's why our food was always 'charcoaled' when we were growing up...
Ammon
typical Evva
Stephen pretty much adores Eli
Eli pretty much loves him too.
Gorgeous pool princess.
Jumping in the pool was very exciting...
ok..so once again, i'm behind on my posting...but here's a recap.
Spent the entire weekend in Sumter for Mothers Day, and it was WONDERFUL! I think it was the first time that we've been there for more than a day since we've been married (which by the day, is 6 months to the day!)
My dad worked Stephen to death, but I don't think he really minded. He loves doing yard work, (and i love the fact that dad can work HIM now instead of me! haha) Dad took on this whole project of painting the chain link fence black (to save money...) and bought a paint sprayer. Easy, right?
Think again. You had to go up and down EACH line in the fence. Do you understand me? EACH line BOTH ways. Ridiculous. Add in the hot South Carolina sun and it becomes MORE ridiculous.
Well, being the good daughter that I am (excuse me, while I toot my own horn...) I saw how tired my dad looked and offered to give him a break and I would paint some of the fence for him while he rested in the shade for a minute. (obviously before I realized how ridiculous this task was going to be!) Well...about 60 minutes later, and about a bucket or sweat and tears later I have sucessfully painted...drumroll, please.......about 1 section of the fence and the gate. (anticlimatic, huh?)
I start to help Mom bring some groceries inside, and then start the task of using GASOLINE to get all the black paint off of me.
Later, at dinner, Mom was making fun of dad for putting us to work when we come home to visit. Dad responds, "what? She only worked for 12 minutes!".
Wow...soo under appreciated!! haha. Well, I finally got him to admit that I did work a little longer than 12 minutes but i can't complain...I now have a husband to take up most of the grunt work!
*sidenote* my mom and I were laughing about Dad making Stephen work so hard all weekend, because it reminded us of when us girls were younger. We NEVER could get friends to stay overnight on Fridays because EVERYONE knew that if you came over on Friday, you would be put to work on Saturday morning.
I guess some things never change.

Aww, I miss your parents! Your dad is so funny. Hope to see you guys when I come home..whenever that is!
So it was still wonderful huh? Anytime. No projects currently.

How funny! You gotta love parents. I can't believe you've already been married for 6 months! Time flies, doesn't it?
