*sorry, this is long and boring rambling....scroll down for pictures!haha*
I'm officially wanting to get out of my apartments pronto. This morning, Stephen left for work at 7 to get there early today. Well, he kissed me goodbye before he left, and i pretty much just rolled over to go back to sleep. About a minute later, however, i hear the key turn the lock again, and lo and behold, Stephen walks in again.
Guess why?
Because his window to his truck was smashed in. Someone broke into his truck.
And what did they steal, you ask?
A set of old golf clubs, an old cell phone and charger, loose change, and an emergency kit for the car.
Seriously? Was it worth it to break a window to steal a set of old golf clubs?
We called the police and had them come do a police report. The Dummy who broke in even left us a present on the front seat....the tool he used to shatter the window! lucky us!
When i lived in the other apartment with Emily, her brother's car got broken into. But, to be honest, we weren't that surprised, b/c he had an expensive stereo system in the car, and always had it blaring when he was driving in the apartment complex. That was just luring the little thief in.
There was also another truck that was broken into. It was on the opposite side of the building. Emily and i really thought that it must have been someone who lived in building 7, because that's where all the break-in's were happening.
oh well. At least it was just the window, and nothing that valuble was taken. It just really makes you feel violated when you know someone was rummaging through your stuff. There were papers and cd's scattered around the truck, and of course some stuff was missing. And I think it bothers me even more that we were just sleeping when they broke into the car right below our window.
It makes me a little angry, but also a little scared.
Ironically, last night was the first night that Stephen and I started looking for houses together. We have decided that we are going to get a house (hopefully before our lease runs out). We were talking about how happy we were going to be to get out of an apartment, and then this happens. Just kinda reaffirms that fact that we need to move.
Stephen even said that some of our neighbors saw him outside and mentioned that their motorcycle was stolen! Just flat out stolen! And another guy said that his car was keyed and some of his other property was vandalized.
Luckily, we don't have to pay anything to get the window replaced, so we are just counting our blessings. It could have been a lot worse.
Maybe this is just the push we needed to really get going on house hunting.

I know how you feel. Our window was smashed in our van because it ticked the people off we were too poor to have anything to steal.
You can stay with us if you don't find a place before your lease runs out. I'll get the bikes out the garage and put up a bed for yous.
Man! WE had several cases like that when we lived in married housing at USC. So, sad. Actually Rocco's car was even stolen!
Renting stinks anyway! You can move into my ward! I even know a house for sale!

Glad u guys are ok
Na! That so stinks! At least that is not as bad as when Joel's truck was broken into for a pair of old sneakers! Talk about ridiculous! Anyway, I 100% support the move! Can't wait to see pics of the prospects!
