Grace is entertaining

Last night Grace was on the potty, and we were reading some books. We were reading this book of all the colors and got to the color brown. there was a picture of a chocolate bar, and Grace points to it and  exclaims, "CHOCOLATE! I love chocolate...so MUCH!" (and when she said 'so much' she squeezed her arms together and giggled!) Yep..chocolate makes mama giddy too!

Grace may or may not have found a marker at Grandmama's house.

The other night at Family Home Evening, Stephen asked Grace who our prophet was. She thinks for a minute, and then says, "Uchtdorf....no....Monson!" I was so proud that she knew that President Monson is our living prophet. (and I was proud that she knew AND could pronounce Uchtdorf! That must be MY influence! )

Fell asleep sitting up at Grandmama's. This girl NEVER falls asleep watching a movie, but that day was an exception.

In honor of Grace, I made a Rapunzel graham cracker house. Complete with a flower thatched roof, and a gummy Mario Flynn Ryder. She LOVED it!

Loving on D-Money before they moved!

We've eliminated hair stylist from future career choices. Don't let Julia's face fool you...it was bad.

Grace has been saying prayers for a while, but usually they consist of 'Dear Heavenly Father, Thank dee Day, good for body, name Jesus Christ, AMEN. (we thank thee for this day, (she forgets to say, please bless this food that it will be ) good for our bodies, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen)
We usually have to interrupt her and make sure she continues to say things instead of just ending it so quickly.

Well, last night, we let her say the prayer and she didn't really need our help very much. It went like this:

Dear Heavenly Father, thank thee for this day, Bless daddy go to work, bless mama feel better go doctor, Thank thee go library, thank thee see Bennett and Becca and Mimi, and Cara, and Jessica and Brison, and...PUPPIES! Bless Baby Caroline feel better. Name Jesus Christ AMEN!

She did such a good job.  I do think she is stuck on the 'feel better' thing. I was sick a few weeks ago, and now, mama always gets blessed to feel better. I guess I can use all the 'feel better' I can get!

And tonight, we were once again blessing the baby cousins, and then Grace says, "And bless MY babies!" and then starts patting the baby doll beside her. (Such a good mama, blessing her babies...)

Cousin emily makes life fun. Grace in a pirate dress-up wearing a elmo easter basket on her head, and 'riding' a blow up baseball bat.

We drove by Chick-fi-la the other day on the way to the library. Grace shouted from the back seat, "Cow cup, chicken nuggets, French Fries, HOORAY!!" Poor thing...I had to bust her bubble and explain that we cannot afford to eat at Chick-fi-la every time we pass one!

Grace always asks to play 'Dora' when we go to the library. It is a touch screen, so she feels extra important!

We've also been trying to read the scriptures with Grace. We've been reading with her every night, but we've been using the 'scripture story' books, where they are kinda like cartoon strips, but with scripture stories. Well, we decided, that in addition to that, we wanted to start reading out of the Book of Mormon, so she could start hearing and understanding the scripture language better. We only read about three verses a night. Stephen reads one, I read the next, and then one of us helps Grace 'read' one.   Last night, she did so good repeating all the phrases we gave her. It made my heart melt to hear her reading the scriptures.  I hope she grows to love them and read them daily.

Look,Grace has some hair! (and a bruise from the goose egg)

Grace has officially hit the 'ask questions' stage. She asks me question ALL day long! I can't say that I'm a huge fan of this. Don't get me wrong....I love that Grace is learning, and can communicate. BUT, when you get the SAME question about 300 times a day...it gets old fast. One of her favorite places to ask me questions is in the car. I guess something about being stuck in one place makes her very curious. The conversations go like this:
G: Where Daddy go?
N: He's at work.
G: Where Cara go?
N: She's at her house.
G: Where Mimi-Nomes go?
N: She's at her house with her mommy, Cara.
G: Where Mack go?
N: He's at work.
G: Where's Livvy go?
N: She's at home with her mama, ZiZi.
(then proceed through ALL siblings and parents for that family)
G: Where Daddy go?

OH.MY.GOODNESS. It is a nonstop cycle at my house right now. And her second favorite question is: "who's dat?"
Any book, any picture, any letter, number, item on a grocery store shelf gets that question. We read lots of books (especially with the potty training thing we're starting) and she let's m read it once, and then says, "My turn" and then proceeds to 'read' it to me. She always impresses me when she remembers at least one phrase of every page....and then proceeds to point to every thing on the page and ask, "Who's dat?". Once she has pointed to everything...she points at the first thing again, and asks, "who's dat?".
Sigh.

Grace also likes to name everything now. Today, she brought me this little pink hedgehog and asked me the 'Who's dat?" question. I threw it back to her saying, " I don't know...what is her name?".  She taps her chin with her pointer finger and then says, "hmmm... TARGET!"

The other day, we were going to Edventure with some friends. I was trying to get her to put her coat on, and usher her out the door. I said, "Come on Grace, we need to go" and she says, " YAY, TARGET!!"

Looks like she's inherited her mother's love for Target.
