Smoothies and make-shift photoshoot

Today, I decided that, since I had frozen strawberries and pineapple, I was going to make a smoothie for breakfast. Sad to admit, but I had never done this before. I started to make the smoothie, and it took me a while to get it to blended well.  Then, I added some vanilla yogurt bites (freeze dried yogurt bites from Thrive). I opened up the blender, dipped my spoon in and tasted it. It was DELICIOUS! But then, I felt something on my tongue that tasted like some fruit skin that didn't get blended. My thought: Strawberries and Pineapple don't have skins that tough.

Then I pulled a tiny piece of plastic out of my mouth.
After a moment of "What in the world?"...I realized that when I dumped in the yogurt bites, I must have dumped in the preservative packet as well. Gross.

So, I had to call poison control...on MYSELF.
All is well, though. Turns out, those packets don't really harm you. She said worst case scenario would be a stomachache.

Sad that I had to waste the good fruit..but luckily I had enough to make another batch once I cleaned out the first try.

And it was totally worth it.

Even Grace couldn't get enough of it!

Also, I had grand ambitions of having a 'photoshoot' of our family this morning. I bought a Groupon a while ago for a canvas print, but it expires in February. I had a certain thing in mind for the canvas, so I was hoping to go out and self timer us a family portrait.

But today's weather had other plans. Like....RAIN. ALL. DAY.

So, since I had actually put on makeup, and blow dried my hair (a rare occurrence at my house) I decided to take a few snapshots with Grace.

And, although they aren't fancy or even that great...I love them.

But mostly...I love HER.

Next time throw some spinach in that blender! Scouts honor, you can't taste it. SEE it, yes, but not taste. :)
