Highlights of General Conference

Conference was interesting for me this time.  Of course, the talks that I heard were AMAZING...but I missed a good few due to the fact that I had an almost two year old climbing all over me...and a two and a half year old also running around and screaming! haha  Stephen and I babysat my nephew, Ben this last week because Joe and Shawna got to go to Utah to see ALL sessions of conference!  The morning sessions were better, because that was in nap time, but the afternoon ones were definitely more distracting!

But, I wanted to highlight a few moments of what I wanted to remember amid the chaos!
(not really from the talks themselves, but from the experience in general.)

On Saturday, by the middle of the second session, I was about to pull my hair out! It was loud, and the kids kept whining about everything, or hitting, or trying to climb up the stairs, or rejecting every toy or snack we offered them.
Then the intermediate song came on.
"Let Us All Press On"
I literally started laughing.
Growing up, when we had Family Home Evening, we had to sing this song at least once. And if we were grumpy and didn't want to sing, our parents would sing it over and over and over until we finally gave up and sang along so they would stop!

When the organ started, I sang loud and proud, and just had a little happy moment thinking that my Heavenly Father knew EXACTLY what I needed to hear right then.

Throughout the session, Grace would periodically glance at the tv and point out Monson during the session.  Then, when another speaker was up, she would look at me and shrug her shoulders and say, "Mama, where Monson go?"
Every single time, she just killed me with her cuteness.

Speaking of Monson, I think Grace has developed a crush.  It is already a running joke in my house, that I am smitten with President Uchtdorf. I may or may not call him a "German dreamboat".
So, when Grace leaned over to me during Monson's final remarks and said, "Mama, Monson's CUTE", I knew another little crush had developed!

in one of their quieter moments!
I just love Conference (even when it is hectic) and I especially love the fact that the church is so technologically advanced and I can watch it all again!

Hey! I found your blog a little while ago, and I love reading your posts :) Conference was slightly disastrous for us, too. I think I actually managed to really listen to 1 session while the others were spent chasing the trex...makes me grateful for the Ensign!
