I've been working on ways to punish Grace for being disobedient.
Stephen and I decided that we would try 'time-out' to see if that helped.
We will give her a warning, and if she chooses to ignore the warning, we put her in time-out.
At first, we would just hold her in our lap...because to a 18month old, being confined is pretty much the worst thing in the world.
Then, of course, we would talk to her about why she was in time out.
Now, we are trying to phase her into having time-out in a corner, so we don't have to be 'punished' WITH her! haha
We decided that the corner/entryway by the front door was the perfect place since it was secluded enough where she couldn't be distracted by things, and we could still keep an eye on her.
Fast forward to the other day, when she was REALLY tempted to touch my laptop on the side table.
She would look over her shoulder at me, and I would give her that 'mom' look.
She would back away, and then started tracing her hand across the CHAIR by the laptop...then her little hands made their way to the side table the laptop was on...
and then, you guessed it, the laptop.
I said, "Grace, do you want to go in timeout?"
to which she answered, "Yeah!"
And then proceeded to prance over to her corner and sit down, successfully putting herself in time-out!!
Now, if only I can teach her to just listen to me so she doesn't have to put herself in time-out!!
HA!

That angel can do nothing wrong.
I'm with Matt! Stop making things up Beebs!! That's awesome and makes me laugh, John does the very same thing. All I have to do is ask or just mention the word even when he's not even in trouble, and he leaves, finding his corner.
