Daddy's little...

GIRL!!!

We finally got to have our ultrasound today, and we are ridiculously excited to be welcoming a sweet baby girl into our home around November 4th. The Harris genes obviously were still holding strong, because i'm the 4th and final daughter to have a girl first. Girls are prominent on my side of the family.

We went in to the doctors today just ready to KNOW and to get even more excited. They were actually really quick to get us back, which was surprising, but Stephen was not happy with how they did the ultrasound....they did all the 'important' things first, like brain, heart, bloodflow, etc...when he was so anxious to know if it was a boy of a girl! haha

She didn't want to cooperate, though, (yep, definately a stubborn Harris girl) and wanted to cross her legs for a while. They had to roll me on my side to finally get her to spread out.

I'm also afraid to say that she already has the 'photographer's-child syndrome'.

Everytime we tried to get a picture of her face, she would hide behind the placenta wall, and put her hand in front of her face. I bet my mom will say, it serves me right... I was the same way when I was a kid.

We are so incredibly excited to welcome this little girl in our lives. Although Stephen already admitted, that he now feels a strong hatred for all boys. He's already got the whole, 'protective daddy' thing going on, and she's not even born yet! I know everyone at church thinks that Stephen wanted a boy (ahem...he said HE in his talk about 10 times yesterday), but he is beyond excited to have a girl. (aside from the whole 'boys won't be good enough for her thing)

He keeps looking at the pictures, going to the nursery and looking through the closet, looking at the pictures again...I think she already has him wrapped around her finger.

I'm excited to start planning, and painting, and buying....I love it all!

And ZiZi, I've already got ideas for the mural in the nursery!

Congrats on finding out about your little girl! That is super exciting! I just got done reading your blog from the past month and saved that post for last. I will have to pass the good news on to Leigh. Andy and I are staying with her at her apt in Maine for a couple of weeks!
